Our MinEx CRC Publication Spotlight showcases peer-reviewed and publicly available scientific publications from our research teams.

This spotlight features a recent publication led by MinEx CRC PhD graduate Alejandra Bedoya in collaboration with researchers from Adelaide University, Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA), Curtin University, Geoscience Australia and the China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing. The study investigates geological structures and their implications for understanding mineral systems and the evolution of the Earth’s crust, contributing new insights relevant to both academic research and mineral exploration.

The research examines the relationships between crustal architecture, tectonic processes and mineral system development, helping to improve understanding of how geological structures influence the distribution and evolution of mineralising systems. These findings provide valuable information for geoscientists seeking to better understand the processes that control mineral prospectivity and crustal evolution over geological timescales.

The publication highlights the strength of collaboration between universities, government geological surveys and research organisations in advancing geoscience knowledge. It also demonstrates the lasting impact of MinEx CRC postgraduate research, with outcomes continuing to emerge following the completion of candidature.
