MinEx CRC Project 1 team takes out the Trailblazer Award at #Curtinnovation2022

We are beyond proud to share that the MinExCRC Project Team from Curtin University has received the Trailblazer Award at #Curtinnovation2022  for their iFluid drilling system.

Led by Masood Mostofi and together with industry partners, the research team has developed a system that automates the composition and delivery of drilling fluid.

The iFluid unit can be controlled remotely and evaluates data derived from the fluid returning from depth, recalibrating its chemical composition before sending it back down the hole.

Following a ten-month deployment in the field, iFluid recorded some impressive statistics: reductions in water consumption, chemical consumption and casing usage, representing savings of almost $7000 in daily operational costs.
