Our fantastic colleagues at Geoscience Australia will facilitate their annual EFTF Showcase next week.

Since 2016, the $225m Exploring for the Future program has been gathering, analysing and providing precompetitive geoscience data, information and tools to help inform decision-making by government, community and industry on the sustainable development of Australia’s mineral, energy and groundwater resources, supporting our transition to net zero.

The 2023 Showcase is a free online event, where a team of geoscience experts will reflect on the value of the program and share scientific highlights and precompetitive geoscience results with the minerals, groundwater and energy sectors, government, academia, research, colleagues, collaborators and the public.

It also provides a unique opportunity to discuss topics of interest and engage directly with our scientists through an open Q&A forum.

Preliminary data results from 17 new boreholes, including geological and petrophysical logs from our NSW National Drilling Initiative (NDI) Campaign will be released. This new work is part of the EFTF program’s Darling-Curnamona-Delamerian project, undertaken in collaboration with Geoscience Australia and the Geological Survey of NSW. Results will contribute to more effective exploration strategies across a significant area of Australia, the Delamerian Orogen, which covers over 1,000 km2 across QLD, SA, NSW and Tas.
