LITHOBOUND APP WORKSHOP

Overview:
Regolith development, weathering and other geological processes can produce changes in downhole geochemical, mineralogical and petrophysical data. Identifying these changes objectively can reduce reliance on visual interpretation and support more consistent characterisation of drillhole profiles. Reliable detection of interfaces related to weathering, lithology, alteration and mineralisation can also improve geological logging, sampling decisions and interpretation.
In this half-day practical workshop, participants will use example drillhole datasets to explore these patterns with LithoBound, a web-based application for drillhole characterisation and interface detection. Exercises will cover data preparation, variable selection, boundary detection and interpretation. By the end of the workshop, participants should have a better understanding of how LithoBound can be used to identify downhole changes and support geological interpretation.
Attendees will need to bring their own device, a MacOS or Windows capable laptop.
LOOP WORKSHOP

Overview:
This workshop will demonstrate application of the Open-Source tools developed as part of Project 6 of the MinEx CRC. This will include:
- Automated upscaling of geological maps
- 3D Geological Modelling
- Embedded GIS geophysical processing tools
- 2D and 3D gravity/mag inversion
- Uncertainty analysis
- Feature semblance
Attendees will need to bring their own device, a MacOS or Windows capable laptop.
FUTURE SCIENCE TALKS WORKSHOP

Overview:
Future Science Talks (FST) equips presenters with the skills to communicate complex and specialised information with confidence, clarity, and impact. We partner with a broad range of organisations, and have deep expertise in the health, science, technology, and government sectors.
Our workshops are practical and results-driven, providing participants with techniques they can immediately apply across diverse settings, including meetings, presentations, and high-stakes talks.
FST has supported scientists in securing research funding, helped health organisations build corporate partnerships, enabled technology companies to strengthen connections with government, and guided public sector teams to deliver more influential stakeholder briefings.
Our programs are led by FST Founder, Dave Crisante, who brings more than 20 years of experience working with science, health, technology, and government organisations. His background includes executive roles in communications and partnerships, as well as serving as an ABC journalist and political speechwriter.
POST-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS:
THE VALUE OF SEISMIC DATA FOR GEOLOGICAL AND GEOTECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE SUBSURFACE

LASER MAP EXPLORER (LaME) SOFTWARE WORKSHOP

Overview:
Laser Map Explorer (LaME) is an open-source application for processing and analyzing map-form geochemistry data, primarily LA-ICP-MS and XRF grids. In this workshop, we will explore how to use the software to view map data, identify regions of interest and produce a range of standard geochemical plots. We will continue with more advanced analyses including computing new fields and apply unsupervised machine learning techniques (PCA, clustering) to produce identify minerals and compute stoichiometric calculations. We will explore novel note recording functions to save time when producing data reports and supplementary information. We will use a workflow design tool to create reproducible and automated workflows that can be used to analyze a batch of samples.
Attendees will need to bring their own device, a MacOS or Windows capable laptop. A dataset will be provided.
