Congratulations to MinEx CRC student Ivan Gutierrez Agramont, who has officially been awarded his PhD titled Machine learning-based synthetic data for generating (downhole) Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) assay data”.

Ivan developed a new method for generating synthetic data to train machine learning models in interpretation of LIBS geochemistry generated from the MinEx CRC Project 3 downhole tool.

Ivan is MinEx CRC’s twenty second postgraduate completion!

Congratulations also to his supervisory team: Caroline Tiddy and Ben van der Hoek (both UniSA), and Lequn Zhang and Steven Tassios (both CSIRO).
