Our MinEx CRC Publication Spotlight showcases peer-reviewed and publicly available scientific publications from our research teams.

This publication explores new techniques for dating Proterozoic sedimentary rocks, which are difficult to age due to the absence of fossils. Using in situ Rb–Sr dating of K-rich minerals such as glauconite and K-feldspar, the study examined samples from several major Australian basins spanning the Precambrian–Cambrian transition.

The findings highlight how this method can unravel depositional ages, diagenetic processes, and sediment provenance in ancient basins.
