The National Drilling Initiative (NDI) will manage and deliver drilling programs in multiple case study areas proposed by MinEx CRC’s partner geological survey organisations.  The NDI vision is to drill multiple holes in a region to map the regional geology and architecture and define the potential for mineral systems in 3D.  A range of drilling methods may be used however it is intended that the NDI will take advantage of new low-cost Coiled Tubing (CT) drilling technology and associated sensing, in order to maximise the number of drill holes and the volume of data collected.   The first drilling campaigns are being planned to be undertaken from April to September 2020 in the Northern Territory.

TISA Campaign:

MinEx CRC seeks to drill 10-15 boreholes up to 500 m deep in the basement rocks in the East Tennant region of the Northern Territory. Samples may include diamond drill core and reverse circulation or mud rotary chips, as well as a suite of borehole wireline geophysical data.

South Nicholson Campaign:

South Nicholson Campaign: MinEx seeks to evaluate an area in the vicinity of the NT / Queensland border to better understand the geology and the structure.  The area may have conventional and unconventional oil and gas potential and/or mineral potential and a ~2000m deep drillhole is planned. Samples may include diamond drill core and reverse circulation or mud rotary chips, as well as a suite of borehole wireline geophysical data.

Expressions of interest are called for from drilling companies capable of undertaking the drilling described above, with a closing date for submissions being Friday 18 October 2019.   Please contact Scott Brown on 0418 908 958 or by email on comms@minexcrc.com.au
