Our MinEx CRC Publication Spotlight showcases peer-reviewed and publicly available scientific publications arising from research across the CRC.

This spotlight features a recent publication led by MinEx CRC postgraduate student Hamid Bizhani from Adelaide University. Published in Preview, the paper investigates how integrating magnetotelluric (MT) and passive seismic methods can improve understanding of the subsurface in the Mundi Mundi region of the Curnamona Province, South Australia.

The research combines complementary geophysical techniques to develop a more comprehensive picture of geological structures beneath the surface. By integrating magnetotelluric data with passive seismic observations, the study demonstrates how multiple geophysical datasets can be used together to improve geological interpretation in areas of exploration interest.

This work contributes to ongoing efforts to enhance subsurface imaging and demonstrates the value of multidisciplinary geophysical approaches for mineral exploration. The publication also reflects the collaborative nature of MinEx CRC research, bringing together expertise from Adelaide University and Strategic Energy Resources.

The publication is another excellent example of the high-quality research being undertaken by MinEx CRC’s postgraduate students.
