As MinEx CRC moves towards completion in 2028, we are bringing together the wider Research Community to help shape what may come next. We invite the wider Research Community to participate in the ‘MiNext’ Researchers Workshop, which will focus on defining future collaborative research directions, priorities and opportunities beyond MinEx CRC, including researchers not currently associated with MinEx.

This session will build on discussions already held with Geological Surveys and Industry Representatives, and will be an opportunity for Researchers to contribute directly to how future programs, partnerships and capabilities are designed.

We are particularly interested in your perspectives on:

  • Key research challenges and opportunities across the mineral value chain, particularly for geology, geophysics, exploration or the early-stage mining value chain
  • Where collaborative research can deliver the greatest industry impact
  • How future programs and initiatives should be structured to support research excellence and real-world application

Discussion will be guided by themes emerging from earlier MiNext discussions, including:

  • Commodities – emerging and existing commodities of strategic importance, and opportunities for value creation across the supply chain
  • Techniques – new and evolving exploration techniques, data, and analytical approaches across the minerals value chain
  • Sustainability – improving environmental, social and long-term economic outcomes.
