Recommended for:

Geologists, researchers, engineers and PhD students with limited experience, interested to know about the basics of drilling.

Overview:

This workshop will provide an introduction to drilling engineering for those with little to no prior existing knowledge. The workshop will include an interactive PowerPoint presentation covering the fundamentals related to diamond, RC and coiled tube drilling. This presentation is embedded with workshop activities which will be completed in groups.

Each group will then undertake selected drilling activities related to rock cutting or drilling fluid. These activities will include an experiment, collection and interpretation of data, and a presentation to the broader group.
